In the biggest bank robbery of current year, unidentified thieves stole valuables worth Rs100 million from the locker of a private bank located in Defence area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Talking with City 21 TV channel on phone, bank locker owner Daniyal said that he has been operating his locker in the bank from July 2010. 

He further said that from time to time he used to keep diamond sets, gold sets, branded watches and foreign currency in the locker.

Daniyal said that last time he saved some valuables in the locker on February 6, 2025. He went on to saying that when he visited the bank on February 19 he noticed that his locker was removed from its position.

He immediately informed the bank staff about the incident. The victim said after his complaint the bank staff started search operation inside the bank during which they found empty pouches of ornaments from the roof of the bank.

Police collected all the necessary information from the victim and registered an FIR of the case at Darakshan Police Station.

Police also started interrogation from the bank staff.

Investigator quizzes Daniyal 

Talking tp City 21 on phone, Investigation Officer (IO) Inspector Maqbool Mehar said that he contacted the victim and directed him to submit evidence of missing items from bank’s locker.

He further said that according to Daniyal, last time he visited the bank on February 19 and found his locker was missing but he approached the police on March 1 for filing of the case.

He said that after actual worth of the missing items will be determined following submission of evidence by the victim.
