Pakistan, Bangladesh discuss for future bilateral cricket series

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed Wednesday discussed future cricketing engagements between the two nations. 

Addressing a joint media conference at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, during the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cricketing ties.

Farooq Ahmed also expressed his gratitude towards PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for the warm hospitality and emphasized the significant progress Bangladesh cricket has made in recent years.

"Our cricket has advanced tremendously, and we are now discussing not only the Future Tours Program (FTP) but also potential white-ball series between our teams," Ahmed stated.

He further revealed that both boards are actively working towards finalizing a schedule for these series.

"We are in discussions to set a timeline for the upcoming series, and we are optimistic about reaching an agreement soon," he added.

Welcoming Farooq Ahmed to Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi expressed his appreciation for BCB’s cooperation in organizing the Champions Trophy.

"I sincerely thank Farooq Ahmed and the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their support in making this tournament a success," Naqvi remarked.

He also confirmed that discussions regarding a bilateral series have been ongoing for the past few weeks and are progressing positively.

 "Both boards have been in communication regarding a possible bilateral series, and we expect significant progress in this regard very soon," he added.
