According to the health department, a four-year-old child, Waqar Mallah, has been diagnosed with polio in Ibrahim Mallah village of Bello union council of Sujawal.
After the case was reported, health department teams have increased surveillance in the area and tests of children are also being conducted. It may be recalled that in 2025, polio virus was confirmed in a child in Mureed Khoso, Union Council of Jati Tehsil of Sujawal District.
The residents of the area have expressed concern after the first case of polio was reported in the year 2026 and have demanded effective measures from the health department. On the other hand, during the ongoing polio campaign by the Health Department, children are being regularly administered polio drops, however, the emergence of cases is raising many questions.
