Rawalpindi court sentences man to death for raping six-year-old child

A court in Rawalpindi has sentenced a man to death after convicting him of raping a six-year-old child, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

The verdict was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Afshan Ijaz Sufi, who awarded the death penalty to the convict, Muhammad Akram.

In addition to the death sentence, the court directed the convict to pay Rs1 million in compensation to the victim and imposed a fine of Rs500,000.

According to case details, the incident was registered in May 2024 at Chaklala Police Station, after which legal proceedings were initiated against the accused.
