The Sindh government has allowed the healthcare providers to use plasma for the treatment of people infected with Covid-19. Initially, plasma will be used for treatment of coronavirus patients admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, says Dr Tahir Shahmsi, head of the National Institute of Blood Disease & Bone Marrow Transplantation.

Two patients have been treated with plasma in Sindh so far. One of these patients belonged to Karachi and the other to Jamshoro, says Dr Tahir Shahmsi. One of these patients is a 63-year-old man and the other is a 35-year-old woman. The patients underwent plasma transfusion two days ago.
