Pakistan’s coronavirus cases climb up to 21,510, active patients 15,233

The coronavirus cases in Pakistan increased by 1,315 reaching the total of 21,510 during the past 24 hours, the figures shared by National Command and Operation Centre revealed on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases is 15,233 as 5,782 patients have so far fully recovered from the infection while 111 of them are stated to be in a critical condition.

Punjab continues to top the list of confirmed cases as the figures currently stand at 8,103 which is followed by Sindh 7,882, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa3,288, Balochistan 1,321, Islamabad464, Gilgit-Baltistan 372 and Azad Kashmir 71.

The abovementioned figures were obtained after conducting 9,857 more tests during the same period, which means that a total of 222,404 people have so far been tested for the virus.

The death toll is 486 with the addition of 24 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

Unfortunately, more deaths are being reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa than any other administrative unit. The number of people dying from the virus in the province has now increased to 185.

Sindh is second in the list with 137 deaths followed by Punjab 136, Balochistan 21, Islamabad four and Gilgit-Baltistan three.
