Sex-offenders digital data to be maintained following Anti-Rape Ordinance

To implement the Anti-Rape Ordinance effectively, Federal Law Ministry has decided to cooperate with National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) National Information Technology Board (NITB), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Regarding this, a special meeting was held here in Islamabad on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law Barrister Farogh Naseem. The meeting was attended by officials of NADRA and NITB too.

The Law Ministry Spokesperson informed that the aim of getting favour from the NADRA and the NITB was to keep a close eye on offenders and to establish a register of the sex offenders.

He said that software to compile a complete record of sexual offenders would also be designed.

He said that in the meeting, this was observed that the role of law enforcement agencies in gathering information about the criminals would also be important, adding that the Law Minister appreciates NADRA's facilitations for the masses.
