Margalla Road extension to Motorway will reduce travel time: Naqvi
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited mega project to extend Margalla Road to Motorway and inspected ongoing construction activities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi was given a detailed briefing regarding the project.
According to the briefing, a 3-lane road and a 2-lane service road will be constructed on both sides of the 2.7-kilometer project.
The project also includes an interchange on GT Road, 2 underpasses and a bridge.
Mohsin Naqvi directed completion of Sangjani Interchange on GT Road included in the project by July 31.
Mohsin Naqvi said this project will provide an alternative, fast and easy route between Islamabad and the motorway.
He said completion of the project will significantly reduce traffic pressure and reduce travel time.
Mohsin Naqvi directed that all resources should be utilized to complete the project within the stipulated time.
Quality, transparency and speed are being ensured in every project, Mohsin Naqvi further directed.
He said providing better and faster travel facilities to citizens is the first responsibility of the government.
