SP Special Security Unit, senior surgeon die of corona in Karachi

Superintendent of Police (SP) Special Security Unit’s Syed Raja Arshad lost his life due to coronavirus in Karachi on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
SP Syed Raja Muhammad Arshad was under treatment at Ziauddin Hospital after he was diagnosed with the disease.
Raja Arshad was in complete quarantine at his home but on Thursday morning he felt uncomfortable and was immediately shifted to the private hospital where he breathed his last.
Arshad and another SP Muzaffar Iqbal were diagnosed with the infection. Iqbal has quarantined himself at home.

It is pertinent to note that there are 147,787 active COVID-19 cases in Sindh and in the last 24 hours (Wednesday) eight people died of the deadly virus, as per the figures released by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Thursday morning.
NICH ex-director Dr Nizam dies of Covid-19
Pakistan’s senior paediatric surgeon and former NICH director Prof Nizam-ul-Hasan passed away in Karachi due to coronavirus on Thursday.
Prof Hasan was around 85 years old and survived by his wife, three sons, and a daughter. The late professor’s funeral prayer was offered at a mosque in Defence Phase-VIII and he was later buried in a graveyard in the same locality.
The association’s current president, Dr Tariq Shafi said, “With deep sorrow and grief we want to announce that Prof Nizam-ul-Hasan, who was the founder of the Child Aid Association and its chief patron, lost the battle against the coronavirus.
Shafi added that the late professor’s wife, who is also a physician, is infected with the coronavirus as well and was on a life support at a private hospital.
The organization stated that the members and staff of Child Aid Association expressed deep and heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and join in their prayers for the deceased.
