PTV host Dr Noman Niaz has apologized to former national team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for their on-air clash during a show.

Dr Noman Niaz said in his statement “The response to the program on air was justified, whatever the reason, I had no right to do all this on air, it was my fault, I was at fault. I apologize not once but thousands of times. Shoaib Akhtar is a star. I love his cricket.”

Dr Noman Niaz added that after the program, the my father said that I did not expect this from you, you made a mistake, Shoaib Akhtar is a star and I were just the host, I should have handled the matter. It shouldn't have happened, which I am ready to suffer and am suffering from.

It is pertinent to mention that a few days ago, Dr. Noman Niaz had shown rudeness with Shoaib Akhtar in front of foreign superstars in a sports program on state TV, on which Shoaib Akhtar announced to leave the program on air and announced his resignation.

Taking notice of the matter, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry had directed the state-run TV to conduct an inquiry, on which the PTV inquiry committee had dismissed both Dr Noman Niaz and Shoaib Akhtar.
