Pakistan’s trade deficit soars 56pc to $3.2 billion in October
Pakistan’s trade deficit rose 56 percent during October 2025, on a monthly (MoM) basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the export volume in October was $2.84 billion.
In October 2025, Pakistan’s imports exceeded $6 billion. The trade deficit recorded at $3.2 billion during October 2025.
While this was 4pc lower than September’s deficit, the sharp rise reflects sustained pressure on the country’s external account.
The PBS data revealed that Pakistan’s exports fell 4 percent YoY while rose 14 percent MoM to US$2.84 billion.
Exports from July to October were recorded at $10.448 billion, and during the same period, imports increased to $12.58 billion.
Economists warned that the widening trade deficit could strain foreign exchange reserves, put pressure on the rupee and complicate external debt repayments.
