IHC issues notices in Imran Khan security case

Issuing notices to the respondents, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought their replies on the petition filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, seeking security for her husband who is presently in Adiala Jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq said the court would do whatever was in its capacity.

During the hearing, Bushra’s counsel Latif Khosa sought court’s permission for the provision of home-cooked meals for the former prime minister.

He told the court that the cell in which Imran had been kept was so small that he could hardly offer his prayers there.

Khosa then remarked satirically that it had become a tradition in the country that every former president or prime minister has to spend his time either in Attock or Adiala Jail after leaving office.

The court then adjourned the case’s hearing until next week.
