PTI march in October was to bar COAS Asim’s posting: Usman Dar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar has said his party’s long march in October last was meant to stop the posting of Asim Munir as the chief of army staff.

According to the Dunyanews TV, Usman Dar blamed the May 9 tragedy on Imran Khan, saying the former prime minister orchestrated the situation to avoid his arrest.

“The directions storm sensitive installations across the country were planned at Zaman Park.  These directions had come directly from the PTI chairman,” Dar revealed as he appeared on the “On The Front” programme.

He added this was to pressure the military and extract the resignation from Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.

He also announced partying ways with the PTI and quitting politics for good.

Dar also accused the PTI chief of running an anti-Pakistan narrative.

“Whatever happened at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad and Zaman Park in Lahore was the result of brainwashing by the PTI chief."

He stressed PTI chairman is responsible for the plight of the party making true leaders and loyalists to quit over its anti-Pakistan narrative.

Dar also claimed that he did not put a burden of even a rupee on the state exchequer, saying he even paid out of pocket for his official foreign visits. He said he did not misuse the taxpayers’ money.
