PML-N’s Malik Abdul Samad wins Rawalpindi Cantonment Ward No 8 by-election

Malik Abdul Samad Hussain of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) emerged victorious in the by-election for Ward No. 8 of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, securing 2,679 votes, according to the official results announced on Sunday.

Independent candidate Malik Abdul Karim Khan came in second with 2,025 votes, while Usman Murshid of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) stood third with 104 votes. Another independent candidate, Malik Agha Babar Khan, received six votes.

Out of a total of 4,849 votes cast, 35 were declared invalid. The voter turnout stood at 14.22 percent, with 3,024 male and 1,825 female voters participating in the polling.
