Two dacoits killed in police encounters in Lahore, RY Khan

Two notorious dacoits were gunned down during two police encounters in Lahore and Rahim Yar Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The first police encounter took place in the Chung area of Lahore, in which a Crime Control Department (CCD) team signaled some dacoits who were riding a motorcycle to stop.
Upon noticing the police team, the dacoits started firing on the police party. After the firing was stopped, police found a dacoit in an injured condition.
The injured dacoit was identified as Rashid alias Rashid. The CCD team immediately shifted the dacoit to the hospital, but he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
CCD police sources said that the dead dacoit was involved in more than 50 criminal cases, which include robbery, snatching, dacoity, and attempted murder.
Later, the other accomplices of the dacoit escaped from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.
During the encounter, a Police Constable Asif Baloch also received serious injuries.
In the second police encounter in Tiranda Mohammad Pannah, Rahim Yar Khan, a man who threw acid on his wife, daughters, and mother-in-law was gunned down.
A police spokesman said that a police team signaled some dacoits to stop, but instead they tried to flee after breaching the police barricade.
The police spokesman said that the armed dacoits opened fire on the police party. During the exchange of fire, one of the accused died, and his other accomplice fled from the scene.
The dead accused was identified as Riaz. Police spokesman further revealed that the accused was involved in throwing acid on his wife, daughters, and mother-in-law a few days ago.
During the incident, the accused’s wife and his four-year-old daughter were killed, and his other daughter and mother-in-law received injuries.
District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Soomon said that the safety and security of the people is the police's top priority. He vowed that the crackdown against criminals would continue without any delay.
The DPO lauded the police team for showing outstanding performance.
