Afternoon schools’ teachers in Punjab awaiting salaries for six months

It has been revealed that thousands of teachers working in afternoon schools in Punjab have not received salaries for the last six months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to sources, teachers have not been paid their salaries from December to May.
The number of teachers teaching in afternoon schools across Punjab is more than 10,000.
There are 108 afternoon schools in Lahore.
Teachers have demanded immediate release of salaries for the last six months.
Teachers of afternoon schools are also not paid their salaries for three months of summer vacation.
Teachers blamed that due to the incompetence of education authorities, the salaries of six months have not been paid yet before the summer vacation.
