Cricketer Haider Ali cleared of rape charges in UK, returns to Pakistan

Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali has returned to Pakistan after being cleared of rape charges that were filed against him during his stay in the United Kingdom, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

The case, which drew attention on social media, has now been closed following police investigations.

According to reports, Haider Ali was accused of sexual assault while in the UK.

However, during the course of the investigation, police found no evidence of forced sexual activity.

The allegations were further weakened when conversations recovered from the social media platform WhatsApp were presented, supporting Haider Ali’s version of events and leading to his exoneration.

The clearance has paved the way for the young cricketer’s return home, where he is expected to resume his professional commitments.

Haider Ali, who has represented Pakistan in international cricket, is regarded as one of the promising batting talents in the country.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) insiders revealed that once Haider returns home, the board will conduct its own review of the matter before deciding the next course of action under the PCB Code of Conduct.

The board had earlier stated that any decision regarding his future would only be made after due legal process.
