FIA thwarts human smuggling bid at Sialkot Airport

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) thwarted human smuggling at Sialkot International Airport and arrested 12 accused who were travelling on a visit visa to Uganda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the details, 12 passengers who were going to Uganda on a visit visa were offloaded by FIA personnel who were deputed at Sialkot Airport.

FIA intercepted them after taking notice of their suspicious activities.

During initial interrogation, the accused said that they were going to Uganda and then to Libya on their way to Europe by sea via flight no. FZ-316.

The arrested accused include Umar Hayat, Usama, Waqas, Shawal, Abu Bakr, Shoban, Mohammad Ejaz, Abid Ali, Khawar Shehzad, Taimoor Imdad, Waseem Asghar, and Faisal Abbas.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced a Rs1,00,000 reward for the sub-inspector.

The arrested accused were residents of Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Pakpattan.

Later, these accused were transferred to the Composite Circle Gujranwala for further interrogation and identification of agents.
