Fire destroys drug store in Shikarpur hospital
A massive fire suddenly broke out in a store room of Government Ganga Bai Hospital due to an electrical short circuit. The fire destroyed all the furniture and medicines stored there room, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Rescue sources said that soon after the incident fire brigade team rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. No loss of life reported from the site.
Staff of the hospital said that officials of the hospital will determine the estimate of the loss due to fire.
Rescue sources further said that the cooling process is underway.
Earlier in July 2025, a huge fire erupted at the Kashif Departmental Store located in Sarafa Bazaar, Shikarpur, causing damage estimated at over Rs20 million.
According to the police and fire brigade officials, a three-storey building caught fire due to a short circuit in the solar system.
According to SEPCO, the blaze, which started on the upper floors, began moving downward, prompting fears of its spread toward Dhak Bazaar, a nearby commercial area. Fire brigade crews immediately arrived at the scene and began efforts to control the fire. However, sealed access points and surrounding closures posed challenges to their operation. Additional fire tenders have been called in to intensify efforts.
