Four of family dead in Motorway accident near Khanpur

Four people, including two children, were killed when their car hit a trailer on Motorway M-5, Khanpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The accident took place Zahir Pir Rest Area in Khanpur. The car was going to Rahim Yar Khan from Multan.

Sources said that the driver of the of the ill-fated car went into sleep. All the dead persons belonged to the same family of Rahim Yar Khan. 

Earlier in May 2025, six members of a family drowned when the boat they were riding overturned in Khanpur Dam due to heavy winds that lashed the area.

Police and eyewitnesses said that a family from Peshawar was on a picnic to the dam and decided to take a boat ride, and when their boat reached the middle of the reservoir, heavy winds started blowing and the boat overturned.
