KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur visits Afghan Consulate, announces fresh aid for earthquake victims

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Friday visited the Afghan Consulate in Peshawar to express solidarity with the people of Afghanistan in the wake of the recent earthquake that caused heavy loss of life and property, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Upon his arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly received by Afghan Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah Shakir. He was accompanied by KP Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah.

During the visit, CM Gandapur expressed deep sorrow over the devastation caused by the earthquake and offered prayers and Fateha for the Afghan citizens who lost their lives. He also recorded his condolences in the consulate’s guest book, noting that “the provincial government and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa share equally in the pain and suffering of our Afghan brothers and sisters.”

The Chief Minister reassured Afghan officials that Pakistan stood firmly with the victims and the Afghan government in this hour of trial. Responding to a request from the Afghan Consul General, he directed authorities to dispatch an additional 1,000 tents and essential medicines to support relief efforts in the quake-hit areas.

He also instructed provincial departments to ensure that all possible facilities are provided to injured Afghan citizens receiving treatment in Peshawar.

The Afghan Consul General thanked the Chief Minister and the KP government for their timely and comprehensive assistance, terming it a gesture of brotherhood and goodwill.

Officials said the latest relief package reflects the province’s continued support for Afghanistan as part of cross-border humanitarian cooperation.
