Who is the blackmailer? Saqib Chadhar makes explosive Rs11 crore settlement claim with Momina Iqbal
PML-N politician Saqib Chadhar has made a fresh and explosive claim in his ongoing dispute with Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal, alleging that she sought Rs20 crore for a settlement before the amount was later reduced to Rs11 crore.
In a statement attributed to Saqib Chadhar, he disputed the harassment allegations and claimed that the case actually concerned the alleged sharing of videos without permission. He referred to a section of law under which, according to him, a person's video cannot be shared without their consent.
Saqib also spoke about videos involving himself and Momina that have been circulating online. He claimed that the videos were ordinary recordings taken while they were sitting in a car and were not inappropriate. According to him, Momina had also created some of the videos that later circulated online.
He further alleged that Momina showed one of the videos to his wife during a phone call in either 2021 or 2022. Saqib claimed that when he objected to the videos being shared, he was told not to worry about it and that the video could be uploaded on the internet. He said that after his contact with Momina ended, he approached her sister Ramsha and asked her to stop the videos from being posted, saying that he also had a reputation to protect.
Saqib then spoke about the alleged settlement talks. He claimed that Momina, through her lawyer Adnan Ahsan, initially demanded Rs 20 crore to settle the matter. According to him, he considered the amount too high, after which the alleged demand was reduced to Rs 11 crore.
He said he asked for the demand to be given to him in writing and later received documents that, according to him, explained what the money was being sought for. Saqib pointed out that the amount had dropped from Rs 20 crore to Rs 11 crore and questioned the allegations against him by asking, “Who is the blackmailer?”
Momina got fame because of me. She was a C- and D-class actress who used to personally message people, asking them to speak in her favor,” a claim making rounds on social media.
Saqib also spoke about his past relationship with Momina, claiming that they first met at an event in 2019. He said he proposed marriage to her at the time and that she accepted. According to him, Momina later met his family and the two became engaged in 2020.
He further claimed that Momina knew he was already married, while he did not know that she was divorced. Saqib said he had informed her about his marriage from the beginning and claimed that she had no objection. He also alleged that Momina regularly spoke to his wife on the phone, with some calls lasting around 90 minutes, and said he had evidence of those conversations.
Saqib also discussed his relationship with Ramsha, saying that he had always treated her like a sister. He claimed that he supported her education by sending her to Australia and later gave her a job at his company there.
He alleged that a dispute later developed between them in Australia. Saqib also claimed that one of his friends faced a harassment case there and that a separate claim seeking around $1 million was filed. According to him, the matter eventually ended in a substantial settlement before Ramsha returned to Pakistan. These claims have not been independently verified.
Saqib said he has evidence to support his version of events, but the material he referred to has not been independently examined.
Saqib’s statement has added a new angle to his dispute with Momina Iqbal. He has rejected the harassment allegations and presented the matter as a dispute involving videos and settlement talks.
