Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday presided over a meeting in which it was decided to change the name of Safe City Islamabad to Capital Smart City, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed progress on the Safe City Phase II project. It was decided that all pending work will be completed by May 30, 2026.

Mohsin Naqvi directed the officials concerned to complete the Safe City project as per the schedule time. He further directed to upgrade the Central Command and Control System in the City.

He said that policing, traffic, and facilities for citizens should be integrated. Mohsin Naqvi said that a state-of-the-art Crime Control system with traffic management will be established in Capital Safe City.

During the meeting, participants approved the new design of Safe City Headquarters. Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, gave a detailed and comprehensive briefing to the Interior Minister.

During the briefing, it was also informed that 75 percent work on Phase II is already completed.
