YouTuber faces riot charges as chaos erupts during his giveaway in NYC

The YouTuber and Twitch streamer Kai Cenat Saturday faced riot charges as thousands of New Yorkers appeared in the Manhattan Park and caused chaos over a PlayStation giveaway announced by him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the police, the streamer was also expected to be charged of unlawful assembly and other crimes as well.
During the riots, at least 65 arrests were made by the police and almost half of the arrested people were juvies (below the age of being charged for a crime).
The Police officers were injured amidst the chaos and the food carts, police vehicles and stores in the surroundings were also damaged.
Kai Cenat announced giving away PlayStation 5 consoles at the Union Square Park at 4pm. The event was unprompted and occurred without a permit from the city authorities. The police came to know of the chaotic gathering from a viral social media post and by the time the lawmen reached the spot, the gathering had grown “exponentially”. The event caused major roadblocks and difficulties for pedestrians. Moreover, the subway trains began passing by the Union Square station avoiding the inconvenience.
Kai Cenat is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer who announced free PlayStation 5 giveaways. His followers and fans started pouring into the Union Square Park to see their star and to get the gaming console.
