Police inspector among three people shot dead in Peshawar
Three people, including a police officer, were killed when unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate firing on their vehicle in Peshawar late Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The firing incident took place in the Manchani Gate area of Peshawar.
As per initial details, all three who were travelling in the same vehicle came under severe firing on their way to Dar Mangi, after which they died on the spot.
The victims were later identified as Inspector Ali Hussain who was performing his duties as an investigation officer (IO) in Manchani Gate Police Station, and two civilians Wajid son of Munsif and Azmat.
The bullets were fired with Kalashnikov and pistols. Soon after receiving the report of the incident, SP Sajjad Hussain, Warsack Circle DSP Arbab Naeem Haider, and Manchani Gate Police Station SHO along with a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to the hospital.
Police said that they collected all the evidence from the crime scene and expanded the scope of their investigation.

Mohsin Naqvi expresses grief
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the firing incident and expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the tragic incident in which three persons including a police inspector lost their lives.
In his condolence message, the Interior Minister paid glowing tributes to the martyred police Inspector Ali Hussain.
The minister said the sacrifice rendered by the martyred policeman will be remembered in the future. He saluted the bravery and courage showed by the martyred Khyber Pakhtunkhwa policeman.
The Interior Minister assured the victim’s family that the entire nation stood with them in their hour of grief and sorrow.
