Woman, son die after consuming toxic food in Pattoki

A woman and her son were killed while two other children were in a critical condition after they consumed poisonous food at Pattoki near Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Police said the deceased were identified as 35-year-old Farah and her four-year-old son Hashir, while the family belonged to Habibabad, which lies on the outskirts of Pattoki. 

The Force further said that the other two children, namely 10-year-old Balaj and eight-year-old Huzaifa, were first shifted to a tehsil headquarters hospital and were later referred to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore owing to their critical condition. 

Iftikhar, the head of the family, the police added, lived in Saudi Arabia. 

The police said that the matter was being investigated to ascertain what was mixed in the food that led to the casualties.
