A fake peer has been arrested in the Ahsanpur area of Kot Addu after a woman accused him of repeatedly sexually assaulting her under the pretext of providing an amulet to help resolve disputes with her husband, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to police, the woman told investigators that she had been visiting the suspect to obtain an amulet in the hope of ending ongoing disagreements with her husband.
She alleged that the spiritual healer repeatedly sexually assaulted her while claiming he was preparing the amulet.
Police said the woman further alleged that when she stopped visiting the suspect, he sought revenge by producing recordings on his phone to her husband.
The victim lady claimed that her husband was influenced by the fake spiritual leader and subsequently divorced her.
A criminal case has been registered at Daira Din Panah Police Station in Kot Addu on the complaint of the woman's brother.
Police confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody and said further investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the case.
