Pakistan and US agree to bolster cooperation in legal sector

United States Chargé d'Affaires Natalie Baker met Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar in Islamabad and discussed bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, and ways to strengthen cooperation in the legal sector, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to an official statement issued on Thursday, the two sides exchanged views on Pakistan-US relations and agreed to promote greater cooperation in the field of law. The meeting also covered a range of issues of shared interest.
The statement said the US Chargé d'Affaires appreciated Pakistan's positive role in addressing the Gulf conflict and also praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
US Chargé d'Affaires Natalie Baker further commended the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to the official statement.
During the meeting, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and diplomacy across the region.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar added that the country would continue to play a constructive role in supporting regional peace and security.
The official statement concluded that both sides reached a consensus on enhancing cooperation in the legal sector as part of their broader efforts to strengthen bilateral engagement.
