Fazl says resignation card will be used ‘at the right time’

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced the opposition alliance will hold an ‘anti-inflation march’ to Islamabad on March 23, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

The PDM’s march will be a huge demonstration as people from all walks of life will reach Islamabad against inflation, unemployment and poverty, he told the media after a meeting of the opposition leaders.

The participants of today’s meeting discussed the current situation and the plight of people because of incapable government, he told the media after the PDM leaders’ meeting.

He said PDM  provincial chapters will hold meetings to devise a comprehensive strategy to make the march succesful..

Fazl said he will head KP meeting while Shehbaz Sharif will presided over Punjab meeting.

PkMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai and JUI leader Awais Noorani will chair meetings in Balochistan and Sindh respectively, he added.

He said a seminar will also be held for which he would meet with the lawyers' community as well as the representatives of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Pakistan Bar Council. He said a date for the seminar would be finalised after consultations with lawyers, civil society, business and other communities so that people from all walks of life could be taken into to confidence.

Regarding resignation, Fazl said the PDM will use this card ‘at the right time’. The PDM chief said that a meeting of the alliance's steering committee will meet tomorrow for action plan. 

"All the participants of the meeting also condemned the incident in Sialkot," he said, referring to last week's brutal lynching of a Sri Lankan national. "No citizen has the right to take the law into their own hands," he said, adding that such incidents should be stopped.
