AJK Education Board chairman sent to jail in contempt case
Court orders removal of Nazar Hussain from his post: Chairman arrested from inside court: Co-accused also sent to prison
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) High Court on Friday awarded 15-day jail sentence to Chairman of AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (AJ&KBISE) Chaudhary Nazar Hussain for misusing his official authority, reported 4NewsHD TV channel.
The High Court also ordered immediate removal of the board chairman from his post. Ch Nazar Hussain was later arrested from inside the court.
The court also ordered the authorities not to appoint Nazar Hussain on any other administrative post in the future.
Co-accused DPI Colleges AJK Dr Abdur Rehman was also arrested from the inside the court and was awarded seven-day jail sentence.
Sources said that DPI Colleges Khawaja Abdul Rehman took some decisions after ignoring rules and regulations.
Charge sheet says Secretary of the Board Khawaja Abdul Rehman was barred to use his official authority.
Secretary Board filed a petition in AJ&K High Court appealing to restore his official authority and declare all illegal decisions as null and void.
The court also ordered to restore official authority of secretary of the board and take decisions according to rules and regulations and purely on merit.
In the petition the secretary stated that some members also attended board meeting illegally after ignoring court orders.
The court issued contempt notice to chairman AJ&KBISE.
The legal team of secretary board was headed by Advocate Mohammad Razaul Haq while Advocate Shakeel Zaman Chaudhary represented chairman AJ&KBISE.
