Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says ready to meet Imran Khan if allowed
Says rulers have pushed themselves into a blind alley; rulers opened fire at PTI supporters at D-Chowk to save their government
Awaam Pakistan leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Friday the government has pushed itself into a blind alley and the rulers opened fire at the supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at D-Chowk just to save their government.
Talking to the media in Sargodha, Abbasi said that state does not open fire at its citizens. He said the nation is disappointed with the rulers and the governance system in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif should decide what role he should be playing in the prevailing situation. He said that midterm elections were not solution to the problem.
Abbasi, who is also former prime minister of Pakistan and a former leader of the now ruling PML-N, said that compliance with the constitution and the law is the solution to all problems. He said that he was ready to meet the jailed former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan if the powers that be allow him to see him in Adiala Jail. He said that young people were disappointed with the governance system in Pakistan and they were leaving Pakistan. He said that PML-N’s ‘respect the vote’ narrative has been buried.
