A lady doctor from the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Abbottabad has gone missing for two days under mysterious circumstances, prompting the Doctors Association to announce a province-wide protest and strike from Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to hospital and family sources, Dr Wardah left the DHQ Hospital two days ago in the company of a close female friend and has not returned since.

Sources claimed that Dr Wardah had entrusted around 67 tolas of gold to this friend for safekeeping before travelling abroad.

She reportedly went to retrieve the gold upon her return on Thursday and has been missing ever since.

Sources said that the friend in question may have orchestrated the doctor’s abduction to deprive her of the gold.

Police, however, have yet to confirm any such claim.

A close female associate of the missing doctor had been taken into custody for questioning.

Despite two days of search efforts, police have not succeeded in tracing the doctor’s whereabouts.

Growing frustrated, the doctors' association had announced a strike across Abbottabad DHQ, warning that all medical staff would halt services if the doctor did not recover soon.

Hospital doctors and medical staff plan to begin their strike on Saturday, demanding that police recover Dr Wardah within 12 hours.

The association has also warned of intensified protests if authorities fail to act promptly.

Police officials said efforts were underway to locate the missing doctor, and multiple leads were being investigated.
