Islamabad United knock out Karachi Kings by 50 runs 

Islamabad United has knocked out Karachi Kings by 42 runs in the 14th match of the seventh season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Karachi’s National Stadium on Sunday.

Karachi Kings batsmen failed to rise to the occasion in a mammoth chase of 177 runs. Karachi Kings just made 135/9 in 20 overs.

Karachi kings batsmen Mohammad Nabi was the top scorer with 44 runs and Sahibzada Farhan made 25 runs.

Islamabad United’s Shadab Riaz once again showed his good performance and received 4 wickets against 15 runs in 4 overs. Waqas, Wasim, and Hasan took one wicket each.

Batting first against the Karachi Kings (KK), Islamabad United (ISU) posted a target of 177/6.

From the United, the top scorers were Paul Stirling (39) and Shadab Khan (34). While, from the United, Chris Jordan remained the standout bowler with two wickets against 36 runs in 4 overs.

Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and opted to bat first against Karachi Kings.

Karachi Kings (standing at last position) has yet to get off the mark with victory as Babar Azam XI faced defeat in the four successive matches. Kings, relying completely on Babar’s class, but in the meantime would pin hope from the rest of the players to fire both with the bat and ball.

On the other hand, Islamabad United is going strong (standing at No 3). Though, the Shadab XI lost two close games, as a result of a lack of improvisation in the later part of the matches. The key players for the United would be skipper Shadab Khan who is in sublime form along with New Zealander Colin Munro.
