Pakistan to host Asian Mas-Wrestling Championship in May 2026

Pakistan will host the Asian Mas-Wrestling Championship from May 10 to 15, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the sport’s development in the country.

According to 24NewsHJD TV, the announcement was made following a general council meeting of the Pakistan Mas- Wrestling Federation, convened to finalise the federation’s roadmap for 2026–2027.

The Federation President Nawab Furqan Khan chaired the meeting.

All provincial secretaries participated in the session, presenting their respective agendas, progress reports and development proposals, reflecting a coordinated nationwide effort to strengthen the sport’s structure and outreach.

During the meeting, the General Council expressed gratitude to government authorities for their support in including mas wrestling in inter-school and inter-college games, as well as for their cooperation in promoting the Pink Games.

Officials described these initiatives as important steps toward expanding participation and encouraging youth engagement in sports.

In a key development, the council congratulated the Sindh Mas Wrestling Association on securing affiliation with the Sindh Olympic Association, calling it a major achievement for the institutional growth and recognition of mas wrestling.

Officials said hosting the Asian Mas Wrestling Championship would enhance Pakistan’s standing on the continental sports stage while providing local athletes with valuable international exposure and competitive experience.
