Balochistan CM, Corps Commander review Ashura security in Quetta, warn of zero tolerance for negligence

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, accompanied by Corps Commander Balochistan Lt. Gen. Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan and senior officials, visited the Central Police Office (CPO) in Quetta to review Ashura security arrangements on Sunday.

During the visit, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the D3C Monitoring Room and received a detailed briefing on security protocols, including surveillance of procession routes, sensitive locations, and city entry points.

Bugti directed law enforcement agencies to maintain strict vigilance and monitor the movements of any provocative or suspicious individuals. “Security agencies must stay on full alert—even the slightest negligence will not be tolerated,” he warned.

He emphasised the importance of seamless coordination among all security institutions, noting that the government, armed forces, and the public stand united in ensuring peace during Muharram.

Calling for foolproof security at all processions, gatherings, and public spaces, the Chief Minister urged Inspector General of Police to ensure no gaps remain in operational readiness.
