Two brothers drown in Sindh Canal in Shikarpur

A heartbreaking incident occurred in Taropur area of Shikarpur where two brothers drowned in the Sindh Canal while bathing to escape the sweltering heat, police said Sunday.

According to officials, the victims have been identified as Ali Raza and Khair Muhammad Sanjrani. Local sources revealed that one of the brothers began to drown, and in a heroic attempt to rescue him, the other jumped in, only to tragically meet the same fate.

Their bodies were later recovered and shifted to Civil Hospital Shikarpur for post-mortem examination.

Police have confirmed that a further investigation into the incident is underway, and urged citizens to exercise caution near water bodies during the ongoing heatwave.
