The Punjab government has cut the basic salary of provincial government employees on their retirement. The financial benefits received on leave encashment for government employees have been revised and reduced, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Punjab Finance Department issued the notification of new Leave Encashment Policy on Tuesday.

The provincial government has made amendments to the rules and has cut the basic salary of government employees on retirement.

According to the notification, the financial incentives given on leave encashment to the provincial government employees have been reduced. The government employees will get financial incentives only on the basic pay of the scale.

The financial benefits allocated to the widows have also been slashed, according to the notification.

The Punjab Employees Association resented the decision and announced to stage a protest against this anti-workers decision of the government.

Denouncing the notification, the employees rejected the government decision regarding fixing the financial facilities according to the minimum basic salary of various grades.

They were of the view that the matters of financial incentives are not under the jurisdiction of a caretaker government.

The Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees and All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA) have given a protest call against the Punjab’s caretaker government’s decision.
