Showbiz figures call out abusive romance in Mann Mast Malang and Behroopia
Popular showbiz stars Mishi Khan and Alina Abbas have called out abusive romantic scenes and toxic masculinity portrayed in the ongoing trending drama serials Mast Malang and Behroopia.
The drama serial Mann Mast Malang features actor Danish Taimoor as Kabir, an annoying husband who tortures his wife, Sahar Hashmi (Riya), by tying up her feet, and performing various disturbing and abusive actions, and calls it all ‘love’. However, the drama serial is also garnering huge criticism for its close and romantic scenes.
On the other hand, Behroopia features Faisal Qureshi as Mekayeel, a man grappling with Dissociative Identity Disorder and having nine distinct personalities. His psychological issue makes his wife, Zara ( Madiha Imam), suffer extreme torture.
Moving on in the latest rounds of events, showbiz stars condemned these projects for promoting the ‘sick’ mentality in society.
Actress Ghana Ali shared a controversial clip from Danish Taimoor’s Mast Malang in which he threatens his lady love’s father against arranging the marriage of his daughter to someone else. Ghana added in the clip:: “Thank you, that is what we are teaching. That is the right time we highlight this issue.”
Mishi Khan also criticized Mast Magan and asked PEMRA to issue a notice against the drama serial.
