Zardari phones Ahsan Iqbal, condemns mob attack on PML-N leaders

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday called Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal over the phone and condemned the mob attack on him and his party leaders in Islamabad.
The former president said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was in panic after his party’s defeat in politics. He said that Khan brought the element of intolerance into politics. He said the mob attack on PML-N leaders outside the Parliament House in Islamabad reflected Khan’s undemocratic thinking. He said that mob attack on Mariyum Aurangzeb was condemnable.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters had gathered outside the Parliament House when Prime Minister Imran Khan was taking the vote of confidence from the lawmakers of his own party as well as allied parties. PML-N leaders too reached their and held a press conference against the ruling PTI and criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan. Angered by PML-N leaders’ statements, PTI workers attacked Senator Musadik Malik, Ahsan Iqbal, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Mariyum Aurangzeb.
