Crackdown on profiteers intensified across Islamabad during Ramazan

Islamabad’s district administration has intensified crackdown on profiteers and arrested 92 traders, shopkeepers besides the registration of 12 cases in a single day who were found involve in profiteering during Ramazan, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

According to officials, Islamabad’s Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates conducted 760 inspections at various points across the city. During the visit, three shops found involved in overpricing were sealed and seven cases were registered against them. 

Authorities also imposed a fine of Rs192,000 on violators, while 92 individuals were sent to jail for violating official price lists. 

Commissioner Islamabad has directed officials to submit daily reports on the operations. He warned that those exploiting citizens during Ramazan will not be spared. DC Islamabad Irfan Memon has urged citizens to report profiteers and cooperate with authorities to curb illegal price hikes.
