ECP rejects JUI’s re-polling request for PB-45

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the plea seeking re-polling in the PB-45 constituency, directing the petitioner to approach the Election Tribunal for grievances related to alleged rigging.

The reserved verdict, announced on Wednesday, dismissed Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) candidate Nasrullah Barich’s request to declare the January 15 re-polling at 15 polling stations null and void.

The ECP ruled that any irregularities in compiling election results should be addressed through the Election Tribunal, as it is the designated forum for such complaints.

The decision upholds the victory of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Ali Madad Jattak in the PB-45 constituency. Meanwhile, Usman Pirkani had also filed a petition challenging the result compilation process.
