PML-N ridicules KP govt claims of serving masses 

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Thursday claimed that the provincial government was providing facilities to the masses at their doorstep, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, she said that three days ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had sent her a booklet in which it was claimed that the provincial government had initiated 638 projects in one year. “Perhaps Gandapur himself has not read that book,” she said, adding, “By sending it, the KP CM has made a mistake.”

She further said that it was written in the booklet that the KP government would introduce an ‘Education Card’ in 2027. “Surprisingly, there is no mention in it of how many times the provincial government marched on Islamabad and the Punjab.”

Azma said that a mind-boggling increase in the prices of tickets for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Peshawar was a source of concern for the people. “Those who used to mock the Punjab government for launching the metro bus project and called it a ‘Jangla Bus’, could not make their own bus project successful.” 

The minister said it was wrong to say that it was the PTI government which had launched the ‘Sehat Card’. “In fact, the card had been launched in 2015 by then prime minister Nawaz Sharif,” she boasted. 

She added that it was written in the booklet that 37 schools had been built in KP during one year of the PTI government in the province. “But these are all on paper.” 

A flyover, she went on to say, worth billions of rupees, was built in the province. “But there are craters in it.”

“The truth of the matter is that not a single project was initiated in KP under the PTI government during the last 12 years,” Azma said, adding, “Whatever development works are seen in KP are due to Nawaz Sharif.”
