Priyanka's mom reveals Deepika replacing her in Ram Leela
Priyanka Chopra Jonas's mother, Madhu Chopra, revealed that Priyanka was replaced by Deepika Padukone in the film Ram-Leela.
In an interview with Lehren Retro, Priyanka's mother said that Deepika Padukone replaced Priyanka as the female lead whereas Priyanka made her appearance in the film in a dance number.
Ram-Leela featured Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.
Further, Madhu Chopra said that Priyanka met with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his office, and when she returned, she told her mother that she was only doing a song sequence in Ram-Leela.
Madhu asked what had happened, and she simply replied, “I think that’s better.”

Madhu shared that Priyanka made a well-thought-out decision after her chat with Bhansali. “They might have had some lovely discussions, and she agreed to do it this way because they are still friends,” Madhu added.
Madhu also appreciated her daughter, saying that she did not have a 'revenge attitude'.
Priyanka was also offered the lead role in Mary Kom, which was also produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Madhu also shared Priyanka's experience as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani and said, “Kashibai was very hard because there were tight shots, and it was all on the face. The expressions were everything… Sanjay is not an easy director, and to keep him pleased in the sense that he is satisfied with the performance… that was the target. That was something she was very focused on. There were no distractions; she would not even talk inside her van during that time."
