Hundreds of Pakistanis, two Britons, Omanese citizen reach Gwadar from Iran

Amid escalating tensions in the region following the conflict between Iran and Israel, the return of Pakistani citizens from Iran continues through border crossings in Balochistan, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to the report, 216 people, including 64 students, reached Gwadar through the Gabd-Rimdan border crossing a day earlier. The arrivals are part of an ongoing effort to facilitate the safe return of Pakistani nationals amid the deteriorating regional security situation.

Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Naqeebullah Kakar said that among those crossing the border were two British nationals and one citizen of Oman. Authorities said arrangements were made to receive the travellers and facilitate their onwards journey to other parts of Pakistan.

Government sources said that a total of 312 people arrived at Taftan from Iran on the same day. According to the sources, the group included 173 Iranian truck drivers and two British citizens.

Officials confirmed that the Iranian truck drivers would return to Iran after unloading their cargo. Authorities said the cross-border movement was being managed in accordance with existing arrangements to ensure the smooth flow of trade and the safe return of travellers.

Sources further said that over the past five days, a total of 716 people, including 225 students, have entered Pakistan through Gwadar after returning from Iran as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

Meanwhile, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported earlier today that Emirates Airlines had resumed flights to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, five days after operations were suspended due to the Gulf conflict.

The first Emirates flight, EK-602, brought around 300 passengers to Karachi who had been stranded at Dubai International Airport since February 28, 2026.

Emirates Airlines has begun operating relief flights to facilitate passengers who were unable to travel during the suspension of regional air services.

According to Emirates, more than 100 flights were scheduled to depart from and return to Dubai International Airport until March 6 as part of the airline’s initial steps toward restoring normal operations.
