Plan to create best tourist points on Lahore’s Mall Road ready
A plan to create best tourist points on the historic Mall Road in Lahore city has been prepared, while Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif will oversee it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to sources, district administration officers gave a detailed briefing to the PML-N chief regarding the restoration and development of Mall Road.
Under the plan, cafe streets, walkways and world-class restaurants will be established on Mall Road, while various tourist points will also be created while maintaining its historical identity.
According to the details, 100 percent restoration of the Dinga Singh Building on Mall Road will be ensured.
In addition, 136 historical buildings of the city, including Dayal Singh Mansion and Ganga Ram Trust Building and Ganga Ram Mansion on the Mall Road will also be renovated.
As part of the project, the road adjacent to the Lahore Museum will be converted into a tourist street, while a state-of-the-art cafe street will be established opposite the Lahore High Court to provide a combination of modern and historical environments for citizens and tourists.
