Amar Khan backs Punjab Film City plan after meeting with Marriyum Aurangzeb
Actress and writer Amar Khan has expressed strong support for the proposed Punjab Film City project after a meeting with senior political figure Marriyum Aurangzeb, calling it a major step toward shaping Pakistan’s cultural and entertainment future.
In a statement shared after the meeting, Amar Khan described the interaction as an “absolute pleasure,” where discussions focused on the development of the film industry and the vision behind the Punjab Film City initiative.

The actress highlighted the project as a historic milestone, stating that it has the potential to transform Pakistan’s entertainment landscape.

The Bela Pur Ki Dayan actor also drew comparisons to major international entertainment developments, referencing how large scale cultural projects in other countries have played a key role in shaping their global image.
She suggested that a similar direction could elevate Pakistan’s standing in the regional and international creative industry.
According to Amar Khan, the Punjab Film City should not be limited to film production alone.
