Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann accuses BJP of stoking unrest after Amritsar, Jalandhar blasts

Indian Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday alleged that recent blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar were part of a broader political strategy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of elections in the state.

In a statement, Mann claimed that the BJP typically creates unrest in regions where it seeks electoral gains.

He alleged that such tactics include inciting riots, triggering small-scale explosions, and fostering divisions along religious and caste lines.

“This is the style of the BJP’s work. In whichever state they have to fight elections, they first instigate riots, cause small-scale explosions, orchestrate infighting, and divide people on the basis of religion and caste,” he said.

Mann further stated that these developments indicate the party’s preparations for upcoming political contests in Punjab, accusing it of attempting to destabilize the region for electoral advantage.

There was no immediate response from the BJP to the allegations.
