Despite elapsing four days, no case could be filed against the Wazirabad firing incident that had left one person dead and many others including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan injured, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

PTI Lahore General Secretary Zubair Niazi is the complainant in the case.

The petition written by the PTI was obtained by 24NewsHD TV channel.

The name of the main accused, Naveed, and those of three unknown persons were also included in the petition.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Maj-Gen Faisal Naseer were made respondents in the petition.

“The names of three high-profile personalities are the main obstacle in the registration of the case by police,” said Mubashar Cheema Advocate, head of the PTI legal team.

“We will not back down from our stance, and the case will be registered against those persons only nominated by the PTI chief,” he added.

The PTI leadership will arrive at the City police station at 2pm today for the registration of the case.
