PIA sacks president and secretary general of Aircraft Engineers Society 

The dispute between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management and the Society of Aircraft Engineers of Pakistan (SAEP) escalated further on Thursday as PIA administration has sacked President and Secretary General of Society of Aircraft Engineers from service, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Action was taken against Abdullah Jadoon and Awais Jadoon under relevant PIA laws. The dismissal decision was taken in the context of the recent protests by engineers during an inquiry into 2024 ordinance. 

The SAEP office bearers were given an opportunity for personal hearing on November 4 and 5 in an inquiry launched last year. 

Abdullah Jadoon and Awais Jadoon did not appear before the CEO PIA for personal hearing. Resultantly PIA administration issued dismissal from service orders today. 

Owais Jadoon claimed that they will challenge the dismissal decisions in court. 

Sources said the key reason for the dismissal is the violation of laws, including technical defects in the aircraft. Secretary General SAEP said the failure of engineers to give clearance to the aircraft also led to their dismissal. 

The dismissal orders came as the airline continued to grapple with widespread flight delays and cancellations at major airports, leaving passengers stranded and frustrated across the country. 

The dispute between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management and the Society of Aircraft Engineers of Pakistan (SAEP) escalated further on Wednesday as the national carrier transferred six aircraft engineers from Peshawar to Karachi, drawing vehement criticism from the engineering body. 

The transfer orders came as the airline continued to grapple with widespread flight delays and cancellations at major airports, leaving passengers stranded and frustrated across the country.
