Five children of a family drown in a pond in DG Khan
In a tragic incident in Dera Ghazi Khan on Wednesday, five children of a family including three boys and two girls drowned in a deep pond.
According to 24News HD TV Channel, children ranged in age from six years to 10 years were playing near the pool in Basti Jeevan Jindani Chit Sarkani.
The children reached the pool to enjoy their school holiday but lost their lives.
The father of the children named Khamisa was in Dubai for work.
The pond was full with the water flowing from the DG Canal and despite several requests from the residents of the area to stop the flow of water from the canal were ignored by the Irrigation Department officials.
The children were identified as Waseem, Muhammad Aslam, Mujahid, Rizwana and Muskaan. Locals dragged out the dead bodies of children from the pond when they did not get a response from Rescue 1122.
According to the family sources, the funeral of all five children would be offered when their father would reach Pakistan from Dubai.
